1981 Honda MotoCompo and 2024 MotoCompacto |
||
| April '25, I'm browsing Bring A Trailer and spot a Honda MotoCompo auction. I have long had an itch for one, though heavens knows I certainly don't need one. Anyway, this one is in Florida so no shipping fees, and there is a bonus. It comes with a brand new MotoCompacto, Honda's new electric reimagined version. I watch the auction, read the comments, peruse the photos and, as the auction nears its end, on a whim I toss in a low bid, a couple of grand below what I think the Motocompo alone is worth. Time runs out, I have won the auction. Not sure if I am elated or wondering "what have I done?". In any event, the deed is done, payment is wired and I am off to Deerfield Beach to collect my prizes. | ||

| Immediately after winning the auction, I sought further info on both scooters. I found a very good MotoCompo (aka NCZ50) write up in an Indian site, imotorbike.com, you can read it here. Motorcycle.com did a nice piece on the MotoCompacto. | ||

| Commencing prep: Body sides off, tires clearly need replacing, cleaning off years of road grime. Still to come, cleaning the carb to get a decent idle | ||

In October 2025, there was a dual AMCA/AACA
National Meet in Galveston, TX. It was a long trek from our Jacksonville
headquarters. With spare room on the trailer, we brought the Motocompo
along.
It proved popular and scored an amazing 99.75 points to secure a pair of First Junior awards. Amazingly, it was also nominated for a national award. More on that later. |
